DjangoCon Europe 2020 (Virtual)
September 19, 2020 - 17h50 (GMT+1)
"Closing Remarks" by DjangoCon Europe 2020 Team
The organisers report that DjangoCon Europe 2020 brought together more than 850 Slack members, processed 815 registrations, hosted over 470 live participants and more than 320 simultaneous streams, with 33 volunteers across five continents. They thank the sponsors, institutional partners, grant providers and media partner who supported the event, which was powered by Django and included keynotes, talks and workshops. The conference was intended to be held in Porto, and the team plans to apply the work, sponsorship and grant funding prepared for the in-person event to a live Porto conference scheduled for June 2–6, using what they learned from running the virtual edition.
