DjangoCon Europe 2020 (Virtual)
September 19, 2020 - 09h00 (GMT+1)
" Welcome to the second day!" by David Vaz, Miguel Magalhães, Ricardo Valente
David Vaz welcomes attendees to the second day of DjangoCon Europe 2020, held online from Porto after the pandemic made an in-person event impossible. Miguel Magalhães explains the virtual conference arrangements: attendees can get help through Slack, should follow the code of conduct, can contact the conduct team, and can buy conference shirts; talks run for about 25 minutes followed by 15 minutes of live questions. Porto councillor Ricardo Valente welcomes attendees to visit the city for a future in-person conference and presents Porto as a well-connected, safe, inclusive city with strong universities, skilled technical talent, research institutions, cultural life, and infrastructure. The organisers thank sponsors, returning ticket holders, speakers who adapted their talks, and all participants, and hope to meet in Porto the following year.
