DjangoCon US is described as a welcoming, supportive community where people share knowledge, code, encouragement, and experiences. Attendees say the conference feels like a family reunion: online friendships carry naturally into in-person conversations, while old friends and new contacts gather around Django. Its value extends beyond the framework itself, bringing together people who want to collaborate through open source and make the world better with software.

Speaker 4: Man, the Django community is just like it's I'm just blown away by what it's become. I When when we first released Django, we we thought that maybe, you know, our our wildest dreams were like a few hundred people might use it and to see to see this many people and the places that it's being used and just I I it's just um I don't know. I can't I can't describe it. It's too it's just too much. It's too gr it's too good
Speaker 5: Everybody helps everybody else and and uh people share share their answers, share their code, um and and everybody's in everybody encourages other people. Um it's great.
Speaker 6: There are so many people that I've met online and it's like I've known them, you know, for years. And I was I had that like worry that meeting them in person would be different. It would be like, oh, you know, we're friends online but it was it was almost like the conversations like came off of Twitter and just came into real life. And we just continued and were able to laugh and share experiences and learn from one another. Like, I'm again like those those virtual friends were my real friends because they were.
Speaker 7: It's hard to encapsulate what a Django Con is. It's a family reunion. It's a highly technical specific conference. It is a chance for those who are comfortable and able to travel to meet and gather and share ideas.
Speaker 8: DjangoCon is a conference for a web framework that has been built around for about 15 years now. It's a community, it's a place where we all get together, share our stories, meet up with old friends, make new friends, tell some good times, have some more good times. and it's just a great place to be.
Speaker 3: Django Con is a meeting of really friendly people. When you can spend time together share your knowledge, share your thing.
Speaker 8: Uh it's a community. Uh it's a place for uh some of the best people I know uh to come together, uh to have community, to work on this uh Django thing that we all love.
Speaker 3: Uh and even if we don't use Django in our day-to-day uh I still know people that still come back. So it's a wonderful place for the community to gather.
Speaker 8: Um it's definitely a interesting community of people who are developing this open source project and You really get to experience like a lot of people who are really trying to make the world a better place through software. So Django Korn is a community event. When you are here, you feel like you are part of something a lot bigger than yourself. It's not just code, it's the community that matters.
It is described as supportive, inclusive, welcoming, collaborative, and encouraging, with people sharing answers and code and helping one another.
